Welcome to Tune Drive Sound
We are David Allen Hammond and Jeanie Putnam. Tune Drive Sound is our analog/digital recording studio nestled in the beautiful mountains of Northern New Mexico. The studio is a 2100 s/f adobe house remodeled for living and recording. We are located in the country, just 10 miles from historic Taos, NM. The Rio Grande gorge runs behind our studio/home which is just a short walk to hot springs on banks of the river. The main cutting room is a 1000 s/f room with 21 foot high arched plaster ceilings. Large windows face South allowing the natural light to bathe the stained concrete floors. We have a guest room with private bath for clients.

OUR STUDIO SERVICES
Recording
Full service recording with our 44 channel AMEK analog console and Pro Tools 11.3.1 We have a large variety of microphones, a spacious and very comfortable cutting room and a friendly, supportive staff. We have many instruments are on hand. These include keyboards, drums, acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitars, amplifiers and a variety of hand-percussion and noise-making devices of all sorts.
Mixing
We offer hybrid mixing through our analog console with outboard effects. Software includes Pro Tools 11.3.1 , plugins by Sonarworks, Waves, McDsp, Soundtoys, Antares, iZotope, Spitfire Audio Orchestral and many more. We also offer remote mixing. Just send us your files and we’ll make a sparkling mix of your music.
Production
Whether you’re a band, a solo artist or writer we can add the musical accompaniment to bring the best to your project. Excellent professional players on call, including studio owner David Hammond who has years of experience as a session player and performer on the guitar, bass and synths. Vocal coaching by Jeanie Putnam.
Songwriting & Arranging
Need help with your song? David and Jeanie have many years experience with writing and arranging. David has songs on several grammy-nominated albums and has written with the A-list of Texas and Nashville songwriters. Jeanie is an accomplished pianist with degrees in piano and extensive training in music theory and harmony.
Drum Tracking
We are set up for drum tracking with a large compliment of mics as well as drums by Yamaha and Pearl. A variety of hand percussion is on hand. Session drummers are on call for in-person or remote tracking. If you prefer to program your drum tracks we have Drumagog, Steven Slate, Boom, Hybrid, Arsenal and ujam VD Phat.
